Book Tours are Passe… Still

When Judith first published in 1981, St. Martin’s Press sent her out on a Book Tour, as other publishers did through the years. Times have changed. Totally.

Author readings and signing sessions, once the staple of book publicity, have become dinosaurs. In fact, after 9/11, the odds of being “bumped” from a segment were high. Today’s method is via virtual encounters and promotional videos.

Today’s savvy author knows, or quickly learns that it’s all about the author and book platform—his or hers—and knowing where the crowd is who wants to hear the message. It’s all about Niche, Niche and more Niche.

The Internet is your new, best friend. Social media can launch a thousand books–why not yours?
