Shelf Life and Timelines
The norm for getting a book published by a traditional publisher was 18 months from contract acceptance.

The publishing world moved slowly. It wasn’t great, but because it was the norm, authors accepted it.
The world is moving faster. Publishing timelines have become unrealistic.
When books take more than a year to become available AFTER the manuscript is completed, the storyline or concept can be dated.
All other media moves rapidly today. Your book shelf life may be past its sell-by-date.
When will your book be available for sale and promotion?
This is now. Your book success is up to you.
