WOW! What an author and publishing voyage! The 3rd annual Publishing at Sea ended on a high note on the high seas this past weekend. I loved the diversity of our group; the breadth of their writing; and the array of topics … so hot!
Not all of our participants are in the picture here… I keep it to around 30 so each of our instructors gets to know the author and the book—lots of one-on-one time, networking and just immersing in Authorland—what a way to spend a week!
Each of our faculty members dove into their topics with enthusiasm.
- Author Virtual Assistant Kelly Johnson had us OMGing, I didn’t know this about social media and ID several tools that would make authors, blogs and websites sing;
- Publicity Hound Joan Stewart delivered so many tricks and tips, that we all knew that it was make-over time in our profiles and strategies;
- Amy Collins did a truth and tell on what’s happening in distribution these days along with the truthiness of where book sales are coming from—loved the author alerts;
- Joel Friedlander revealed how he built his funnels to massive email collections and blog success—I was taking notes like crazy.
- Yours truly dove into crafting a speech to sell boatloads of books; how to pitch your book so that buyers buy; and how to launch and market books.
Next year-2017, we will add a special week to the front end designed just for NEWBIE authors.
Both weeks, our floating classroom will be Royal Caribbean’s Freedom of the Seas.
Week 1: January 15-21, 2017, you will have SIX DAYS with me walking you through Author Platform Building (everyone will get a coupon to get on Amazon for my book Author YOU- Creating and Building Your Author and Book Platforms) and the Ins and Outs of Publishing (everyone will get my book Show Me About Book Publishing). Joining me will be my favorite geek girl, Kelly Johnson and together, we will show you how to structure. Get your toe into the publishing waters; know which social media is a must have for all authors and then your type of book … and then how to implement it before you leave the ship. If you are a NEWBIE, this is the workshop you want to attend. If you need a refresher course in all things publishing, this is what you want to attend. Plus, pre-cruise, you will get a 30 minute consult via phone or Skype with me (value $175) as well as one either on board or post cruise. Early Bird is on for $1795 per person (includes balcony, taxes, gratuities, and workshop)–
Week 2: January 21-29, you will gave EIGHT DAYS dedicated to the DEVELOPING-ACHIEVING author—more advanced with strategies for marketing and spin-off product development; killer design strategies; spin off products that will have your head spinning with new ideas; social media marketing twists and plotting; AND how to build a core necessity—a strong email list that turns your followers into Raving YOU fans. Plus, wait-wait … there’s more. We will survey all registrants to take YOUR PULSE … what info do you need to take away—we will then fine-tune our program to create an Author Customized Cruise. How cool is that? You don’t want to miss this.
OK—Are you really ready to splurge and discover how I do what I do? Think about doing both weeks—whew (we call it a back-to-back) … it’s a two week working vacation that is tax deductible!
Our website for signups will be up in two weeks—the second week is already half sold out—I came up with the idea of doing the Newbie session while I was on this past week’s cruise based on the breadth of the needs of what so many said they needed. If you want to be seriously successful; would enjoy a working vacation workshop away from home that is tax deductible (all workshops are held on “at sea” days—when ports are visited, you play) … contact me now with your questions and to reserve your spot.
