Years ago, I was free writing … loosening up my creativity before I started working on a new chapter. Enjoying a fruit salad, three ingredients in it became the words I played with—apples, pecans, and bananas.
The challenge was to kick off a short essay about integrity—as in less than 200 words—using the three items in the beginning but allowing myself to freeform and land “wherever” … and my oh my… the wherever was a surprise.
By the time I was done, my final words were:
Women of the night have more integrity than many publishers. They tell you what you are going to get; how much it will cost; and how long it will take.
Whew … a truthiness.
