The truthiness … publicists cost lots of money. Most want a multiple month commitment from you. Few will guarantee anything.
It’s easy to kiss of $10,000 and get zero results that yield anything measurable.
What to do? Think of and use your micro markets. Your platform portals that you have built over a period of time that mirrors your insights and tips.
Sure, getting on an Oprah, Good Morning America, or major cable news/talk show could create an “instant” … but it’s extremely short term. It’s what you do on an ongoing basis that brings in the reinforcement. The follow up that will take your time and energy.
Authors would love to have a magic moment that cascades into never ending book sales. Your ego will do a happy dance. This lands in a lottery win possibility.
Resist dropping money into this bucket.
