Kick-Butt Author and Publishing Tips & Ahas

Day 4 … we are in San Juan Puerto … I’m ready to hit the streets this afternoon after our AM sessions that Joan Stewart, the Publicity Hound walks everyone through the creation of a press release and Kelly Johnson, the Author’s Virtual Assistant reveals in Tech Tools Demystified. Last night, we were all rock’in ‘n roll’in with Elvis impersonator—too much fun!

Joan’s aha tip go to Amazon and look up the “log line” for any movie … movie folks know how to snag a potential viewer in one simple sentence.

Got an eBook?— add reference to your Media Page on your websites

Tap into using … you can do a push for $159 to $449 … write it yourself or have the pros write it for and push it out.

Joan walked us through the 9 components of creating an off the chart and grab them a press release.

Kelly shared some awesome TOOLS for Authors … here are a few of them:

IFTTT   If This … Then That

It’s a free web-based service that allows users to create chains of simple conditional statements, called “applets”, which are triggered based on changes to other web services such as Gmail, Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest. IFTTT is an abbreviation of “If This Then That“.

If you want to know what the known proven, bestsellers are using in “keywords, get on  explore …. It’s worth its weight in SEO marketing gold.

Taint free. Monthly for $37 or annual for $119.

SnagIt …

Love Snagit and use it all the time. Quickly capture pics of anything on the Internet … copy and paste (or save to computer). Great way to enhance blogs—track an Amazon launch … you name it.

You can record from your desktop and create trainings.

A great way to save to your account any conferences, videos. You add the video and send out URL to your events  (or others) … very cool.

Ole! What a fun afternoon was in store for us! Over a three-hour period, Joan Stewart, Grace Blair, Nick Zelinger and I participated in the San Juan Food and Culture Tour. Not only did we get the behind the scenes ahas of the array of architecture, cultural traditions, and the maze—and I mean maze—of shopping streets in historical Old San Juan … we sparked up our taste buds. We discovered delicious local foods and became “active participants” –just ask us how to make a killer mojito from scratch starting with the mashing of fresh mint
