Authors & Writers Words Mean Freedom on the 4th of July!

Thursday is the 4th of July … a huge day in America. It’s America’s birthday. For ALL authors and writers globally, we should be joining in a universal cheer and celebration of the power of our words. Have you taken some time out to chew over the privilege you have to be able to write what you want? Really chew on it? Many countries don’t have that privilege.

The First Amendment of the Constitution states:

    Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;
    or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to     petition the government  for a redress of grievances.

Yes, we writers and authors are part of the free press and we are definitely up to our eyeballs in free speech

… no law abridging the freedom of speech … meaning your words-the ones you write … their meaning … their impact … their ability to make a difference … to shine on for years … to be a beacon to others.

This 4th of July is relevant to what you do and who you are. Celebrate it. Use it. Spread it everywhere!
